There are some worthy attributes to this 7" saw: after cutting almost 200 tiles (5/8" thick, 12x12 saltillo), the motor continues to provide excellent performance. The problems are multitude: 1. The laser is a cheap plastic add-on. 2. there is no finger clearance under the motor, making the final inches of any cut very difficult. 3. there were no instructions to speak of -- even assembly required me to guess. Be forewarned that the stand needs to be attached to some sort of base (holes in the stand are provided, but, again, there were no instructions or warnings provided) 4. the metal post that provides for attachment between the motor and the frame/track is poorly manufactured making assembly difficult and blade alignment as well as disassembly nearly impossible. 5. The absolute worst problem is the track system. Often tile dust gets coated on the track rod preventing smooth operation. This makes the saw dangerous unless you continuously clean the track.

Yes, you might say, it was only 200 dollars; however, all power equipment should come with adequate instructions and should be safe to operate in the manner described by the manufacturer or the retailer. Yes, I did manage to complete a 400 square foot room and the cuts were fine from beginning to end; however, there were many times that I had to stop work and clean the track.

I suggest passing over this piece of equipment and anything else sold by pro-line (whoever they are!?). I will invest in a brand that I can trust next time as opposed to searching for the cheapest.
