Is not contructed for serious use. It lasted about five minutes in use. Too many plastic/nylon parts to be used in other that very small grass areas. No weeds.

Bought 2 - neither held up........ [Posted on 2004-08-24]
Bought one.......used only on grass twice.......it stopped working so I exhanged it for another which was used only on grass once or twice before it quit. In both cases, something inside the shears seems to have broken, preventing the smaller "trimmer" nylon gear from turning the larger gear on the cutting blades (the smaller gear just whirls without any effect).

clipper housing does not hold working parts in, I have had two units and both have the same defect. Very poor quality control by the manufacturing co.

Starting third year of use [Posted on 2005-04-18]
This lawn trimmer has met our needs well for two and a half years now. We purchased the optional handle/extender that allows me to stand up while trimming the grass. Each fall I use the hedge blades to trim our bushes, and they have also performed well. Now into the third season, the battery only lasts about half as long as it did when new. It is convenient simply hanging the trimmers on the wall into the charging stand (which also holds the hedge trimmer blade). We've had no problems with jambs or slipping gears. The trimmer has held up well. (If I can get a replacement battery quickly, I'll be very satisfied.)

I have had this unit now for over 2 years & it is still working great. I use both the grass trimmer & hedge trimmer quite a bit & the battery is still providing strong power. Also do not have to mess with an electrical cord. For the price, this product cannot be beat.
