Customer Reviews:

Great product! [Posted on 2007-07-10]
I've had this trimmer for several weeks, and I have to say I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Our yard is a bit under 1/4 acre, so a battery trimmer is ideal for our needs (we are able to mow the whole place, front, sides and back, with an electric mower, which saves us hundreds of dollars a year in energy costs, not to mention the other environmental benefits). I purchased an additional battery along with the trimmer, and I'm able to complete all of the trim work on two batteries' worth of charge - this includes cleaning up around two mailboxes on the opposite side of the road, as well as around the fire hudrant. The batteries recharge in about an hour (after waiting for them to cool down, as per the manufacturer's instructions); and the trimmer uses standard trim line for refills.

I will say that the line-head cover is quite fragile, and users will have to ensure that there are no obstructions sticking up to bash it upon - mine cracked in several places on the first use. And getting parts is a bit of an ordeal - there is only ONE authorized parts retailer in the world, as far as I can tell, and it took several weeks for the replacement line-head covers I bought to be received.

All of this aside, however, I would highly recommend this trimmer for anyone with a small to medium yard who doesn't want to spend a wad on gasoline every week, or who would rather not haul a heavy gas engine around their yard to do the trimming. Just plan ahead and anticipate extra batteries or parts, and buy them BEFORE you need 'em.

I Guess I Got the One Lemon [Posted on 2007-07-28]
I read all the reviews and ordered this for my Mom (She's nearly 70) over all the others as being the best fit for her needs. I ordered it May 6th and she got it in 2 weeks. She waited a week to open it and found that it didn't work. So she played around with it for week to try to get it to work. She generally just figures she's doing something wrong. Well, it still didn't work. So, she called their customer service. The person she talked to was nice, but not particularly smart. Some discussion ensued and it was finally decided that it was the charger that didn't work. So, on May 29th, we started the process of getting a replacement. On June 6th, she called again having received nothing. They were a bit rude this time. "Well just how long do you think it takes to get something from Alabama to you?" She finally got a replacement charger the 16th of June. It was the wrong charger. This started a weekly telephone exchange from the 16th of June until someone who knew something finally called back on July 9th saying they would rush out another part. She got the right Charger July 17th (2 weeks on RUSH). But, it was the right one and worked. After charging the battery as directed, the trimmer works, but only for about 20 minutes at a time. All I can say is, if you have to deal with the factory, it seems to be a long hard road. You can't help but think, for $70, I could have gone to Ace, Lowes, Home Depot or even Walmart and picked her up 3 $20 machines. Believe me; I would have done it, just to get out of this saga! Weed Whackers go on sale regularly. Unfortunately, I live in California and Mom lives in Western New York. The whole experience was just less than satisfactory.

Light weight and good Run Time [Posted on 2007-08-30]
I bought this product at the beginning of the summer and am very pleased with it - powerful, quiet and light weight. I'm 6'2 and being able to adjust the front handle has been a back-saver. While the battery provides plenty of juice to get my yard done - I splurged on an extra 18v battery so I always have 1 battery charging while I'm using the other.

Happy with the product and with the customer service! [Posted on 2007-09-18]
Great product for the value. Motor is strong enough for our small front yard. We had a problem with the charger, but the customer support generously sent a new charger, no questions asked. Thanks so much! Mike

Not For Me! [Posted on 2008-04-14]
This trimmer is light, easy to use and though all plastic seems well made. But I found it hasn't the power to trim a 9" path in my lawn or do a good job edge trimming. It might be o.k. for very light applications.
I returned the trimmer to Amazon.
