Way overpriced [Posted on 2007-01-04] I've had this installed on my contractor's saw for over a year now. It works great. Kickback almost eliminated. Recently the spring on one of the anti-kickback pawls broke. I fixed it, then it broke again. The thing still works though. The pawls are adjusted to hold the wood very very tight. Sometimes too tight. All in all, it's a great product, and should be priced at around $50 to $75 dollars.
Tools Needed [Posted on 2007-01-10] Best investment I've made. Easy installation and very easy to use. Punch a button and remove it, then just snap it into place when needed. Can't believe I waited so long to get it.
Biesemeyer comes up with another winner [Posted on 2007-05-21] My Delta saw came with a Biesemeyer fence system, which I found to be a high quality addition to my saw. After using serval types of aftermarket splitters, I purchased the Biesemeyer splitter. As with all things Biesemeyer, precise alignment is the key to installation. My first test was ripping curly cherry. No more binding with a chance of kickback! Once installed the splitter and anti-kickback pawls work superbly.
Excellent but Pricey [Posted on 2007-12-12] Like others, I had to swallow hard at the ridiculous price, but the product is a real gem. Installation was a bit awkward and it took a few attempts to get it set precisely. However, the end result is superb; snap-on/snap-off easily and quickly. Most importantly is that it functions perfectly! If you are considering it, then I'd say "Go for it!".
No setup problems with Biesemeyer riving knife and pawls [Posted on 2008-05-03] I read the other reviews and I was braced for an installation nightmare. Instead, I had no problems at all. It was installed in 5 minutes and works great. I realize that I may have just been lucky: every once in a while these things may install easily at random. Nevertheless, it is a very slick tool. I had to rip a bunch of twisting jatoba and it would not have been possible without this tool. I agree with other reviewers who say that it is massively overpriced for what it is (although not for what it does.) I only hope that the engineers who designed it get a large share of the profits.
