Conveniant [Posted on 2008-03-03] Charged my PSP, iPod and cell phone on one charge. Never charge anything at the same time or it will drain the battery like a tic.
Awesome little thing! [Posted on 2008-05-25] I love it! It's small, well constructed, and seems to hold a charge for a long time (it's been over a month, and it still shows it fully powered). I use it for live power for my wireless headset mic. .
Great Little Gadget!! [Posted on 2008-06-10] Use this device to charge your iPod, Zune, portable DVD player, boombox, whatever you need. It's only 100 Watts, so be cautious trying to power up a laptop - I wouldn't recommend it. Living in the Midwest, this thing comes in very handy during power outages!
For small personal electronics, this thing is great. I work construction, and my Zune won't last all day. I dont always have access to electricity, so this portable charger is a godsend. (At just 100 watts, it obviously will not operate my 6 amp circular saw!) Unlike many other inverters, this charges from regular household power, not your car. You can charge your device from this inverter via either a three prong household type plug in or a USB port. It's light enough to take on a plane (be prepared to explain to the TSA bozo what it is).
Its lightweight for current technology, and will undoubtedly will get smaller and more powerful over time. Really a cool thing!
it doesn't work at all [Posted on 2008-06-12] i've been testing it for 1 week and this product is not bringing good results. it just doesn't work. it doesn't recharge anything. i think i'll return it if it keep not working!
is very big!
Not bad. Not great, but not bad [Posted on 2008-07-13] I use this to charge my laptops once in a while. I can run my Compaq Presario V2000 for about an hour before the internal battery kicks in. I can run my Asus eee pc for slightly longer than that. I got that result on the bigger laptop about a year ago when I first bought this battery. I got the Asus result a few months ago. The battery gets hot if I charge it too long, and the transformer gets REALLY hot. It's possible that I lost some battery life just because I charged it overnight once.
As far as a 2nd laptop battery goes, this is fine. It's a lot cheaper than other "real" laptop batteries. I have a regular universal laptop battery, and that one doesn't last much longer than this one, and it cost twice as much. The price for this battery has gone down since I bought mine.
The nicest thing about this is that you can plug in a regular 3-prong plug. You don't need to buy extra tips. It is certainly strong enough to charge a cell phone or MP3 player, though I don't know how many charges you can get out of it.
Don't get your expectations up too high. You're not going to get 9 hours of extra laptop usage. But if you want to play with your laptop on a cross country flight, it'll work for you.
