very nice [Posted on 2003-06-19] It works just like it was a corded recip saw. It is great because you can change the stroke length. This makes it easier to work on different jobs. The batteries are long lasting. It cuts very nice and fast.
Great Saw [Posted on 2003-11-03] This is a fine quality tool, it works flawlessly. I have to say Bosch makes the best tools that last forever.
Great saw [Posted on 2004-07-25] Over the last few weeks I have been using this saw to trim tree branches, and I have developed a great respect for this tool. It feels and works like it has a cord. I have found that I can use this saw with one hand. I prefer this saws traditional D handle.
I like the runtime of this tool, and I am amazed how much work gets done on one charge. Looking back,I can't understand how I got by without this saw. I really like the dual stroke feature which lets you switch between an agressive 1-1/4 stroke and a milder 3/4 in stroke. I have been having trouble with the stroke adjustment switch on my saw. It sometimes dosen't want to be switched. I found the switch feels spongy. The saw will be returned to Bosch for warrenty repair.
To be fair,I had used the Dewalt 18v Recip saw,and it worked about as well, but I didn't like the Dewalt's clikity clack sound.I am sure that there are plenty of other good 18V reip saws out there.
I only gave my Bosch 4 stars, because of the problem with the stroke adjustment switch, otherwise this star would have got 5 stars.
I find that this saw and a good chainsaw are an unbeatable tree cutting combination. The chainsaw brings the tree down and the reciprocating saw cuts the branches off the tree. A pole chainsaw is also nice.
quick blade change feature. [Posted on 2005-10-31] After owning this tool for a very short time I have a question for you out there. The clamping feature does not hold the blade securely unless you hit it with a heavy tool. Is there a replacement end a person could use. Tool works just great other than this.
