Combo Pack is for the Pro [Posted on 2005-07-24] This set up represents a good value for the experienced user. Mine arrived with a broken gauge which they promptly sent another so no big deal. I missed getting a free finish nailer by a month which had been available as the same package - in my experience if you see a deal you like on Amazon don't wait too long ( for example now the Delta air cleaner on my dream list has gone up 50 bucks in two months...) to make the purchase.
Compressor comes with a 25 foot hose; too short for framing but you should already have a few 50 footers if you are on the job. The gun is great - just the right weight and the heavy duty construction you expect from Bostich. No case though but you can get a great soft bag for it from Duluth Trading for 20 bucks.
I had to immediately change the trigger to the optional bump and fire black trigger to get it to work like I'm used too.
For the Pro I say because you need to have the experience to safely set up and use these powerfull nailers - weekenders and backyard home improvers should stick to a hammer.
Good Value and Good Quality [Posted on 2005-09-08] I was looking for a framing nailer combo to finish my basement because the thought of toe-nailing a few hundred linear feet of wall by hand didn't appeal to me at all (maybe I'm a wimp, I'll admit it). I originally ordered a Porter-Cable combo, but the delivery date kept getting pushed out, and after three weeks of waiting, I decided to buy this Bostitch.
I am very pleased that I did. It shipped immediately, and at the time I ordered, it came with a free cap stapler. I sold that on Amazon (sold in under 12 hours), and used the proceeds to buy a finish nailer.
I hadn't used any air tools in the past, but I found it very easy to set up and to use. Out of the box there was one fitting missing, I called Bostitch and they had one shipped to me by the next day. My project went very quickly and my sheetrocker reported that the framing was dead-on.
jason pare' [Posted on 2006-07-17] Waited several weeks for delivery. Once I called on it it then showed up too late for a job. Packaging looked like it came via IRAQ. Compressor was covered in oil and all gauges smashed. After reading other reviews I learned that no matter what the brand these types of tools are being shipped damaged way too often. Amazon should address this. When you spend 500.00 plus on a tool and wait several weeks the last thing you want to do is open a destroyed item, then they tell you it will take another month or so to get a new one. Customer service had me deal with the seller and not Amazon. I feel if I bought the tool from Amazon then Amazon should do the work. Overall a terrible experience with both parties. Now comes the return part, oh I can't wait for this one!!!
