Works perfectly, just what we needed! [Posted on 2004-06-07] We bought an electric lawnmower and this extension cord off Amazon, and this cable works perfectly. It's just what we needed, and performs very well with our lawnmower. It's a 100' 12 guage extension cord. A cable reel would be a good buy along with this, we will get one eventually. No problems at all with this extension cable. Works just like hoped. A good buy, and free shipping!!
Sailboat jobs [Posted on 2005-08-20] A good, solid extension cord. I used it completely extended and it did a good job.
Tough cord [Posted on 2005-10-12] Cord is very durable with no noticable power loss thru 100 ft length. Works great with my electric mower.
extension cord review [Posted on 2005-10-26] When I received the extension cord, I failed to look at it right away. When I finally opened it and uncoiled it, there was a long cut in the cord, exposing the wires. I am very unhappy with this and it will be a long time before I buy anything else from Amazon. I could have gotten a better deal at Walmart.

Good Bye
What else, its an Orange Extension cord.... [Posted on 2006-05-17] Does the job perfectly fine. Its 12 gauge so there's no amperage loss in 100ft length.
I use it with my Black and Decker 12 amp electric mower. Works great, everytime.
Some people have complained earlier that it doesn't fit their 2 pin plug on the female side of the cable. You should just make sure, if you plan to connect any 2 pin appliances, that the socket on the appliance has enough room to plug this in.
I've also connected this with 10amp machinery with additional 14gauge 50ft cable. That works too. I guess if you know what gauge of cable you need, you can't go wrong with this.
Some facts:
- 16 gauge is good for up 14 AMPS on 50 feet, up to 8 AMPS on 100 feet
- 14 gauge is good for up to 18 amps on 50 feet, up to 12 amps on 100ft, up to 6 amps on 200 feet
- 12 gauge is good for up to 18 AMPS on 100ft, up to 10 AMPS on 200 feet
Most appliances have amp or watt rating. If they have watt rating, divide that by 110 (assuming you are 110Volt country like US) and you get the amp. Example, if your appliance is 1200 watts, it's 1200watt / 110 volts = 10.9 AMPS.
