I had bought the DeWalt nailer combo prior to this kit and was pleased with the quality etc.

This kit is great, all of the tools I need for work around the house in very nice carry bags and they all use the same battery!

I was lucky that the wife let me get this kit. The power tools I had were getting pretty old and my old drills battery was almost as expensive as a new drill. Once the battery would not take a charge I was on the hunt for a new drill. I did a bunch of research and heard good things about Dewalt. I started with the drill but then I saw a couple of kits. I wanted more and more as I was doing my research. I finally settled on this kit since all the tools use the same battery and it has is almost everything needed.

The combo kit in action. As soon as I got the kit my wife had a "Honey Do" list all ready for me. Since my research took a little longer than expected there were quite a few things that needed to be done. This combo kit handled everything plus more. After I finished the list I was searching the house for things to fix. I was always skeptical of some of the battery operated power tools to do some of the bigger jobs like running a jig saw or circular saw. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this Dewalt set handled the work I threw at it.

We also do some house flipping and the set works great for those jobs we do not use a professional for. I have seen some of our contractors with the same set so I know my purchase was on track.

The one job we threw at it this summer was a new play set for the kids. This thing was huge and took over $1500 of lumber. This is where the combo kit really began to shine. The 1/4 inch impact driver is GREAT for lag bolts and beats the heck out of using a socket wrench. The cut off tool makes quick work of the bolts that stick out. I could go on and on about each tool but to save some space let me just say every tool works as expected and flawlessly.

You do go through the batteries quickly if using the impact wrenches or the circular saw. Not Dewalts fault since the tools work at high power and can do the job without so much as a hiccup. It just takes power to do the job. Since there was a lot of wood to cut in the beginning we used a miter saw on a portable bench and cut everything to size. We used the Dewalt circular saw to do the smaller cuts if needed.

½ inch impact wrench was a life saver. We were taking the boat to the lake and instead of putting another tire iron in the car I grabbed the ½ inch impact wrench and 2 sockets. One for the truck and one for the trailer, we got a flat on the trailer and I had to change it on the side of the road. After jacking up the trailer the lug nuts were off and a new tire on FAST. It was not as fast as NASCAR but faster than me fighting with a lug wrench. People get killed doing that on the side of the road so the faster you can get out of there the better.

Batteries.. Batteries.. Batteries.. You get 2 with the set but I really think you need 3 if you want to work with some of higher power tools without stopping. Plus if your working with someone else it's nice to have 2 batteries working and one in the charger. I picked up the dual charger that comes with another battery and no had problems AT ALL.


When I bought the set I thought it might be a little overkill for what I needed but I was wrong. Now I have the tool for the job and the job gets done much faster. I don't use every tool every day but I have used them all. I have everything I need to get a job done and get it done quicker since I am not fighting the cords or digging for something that will work.

Bought this set for my brother and he's ESTATIC. He has already put a new roof on his shed, built several pieces of garden furniture, put a new roof over my mother's car port, fixed several things on his old truck with the grinder and impact wrench, etc etc.

If you dont have any portable tools like my brother and his situation THIS IS AN EXCELLENT selection of tools ... it's like a whole portable workshop.
