I have had the saw for a couple of years now and am as please with it as the day I bought it, I installed the laser on the arbor and made it even better than when I got it new; One great saw.

I love Dewalt tools but I feel there is one minor design flaw with this saw. I have to be very careful that when I grab the handle with my right hand to make a cut that I place my right thumb under the handle and not to the side. Several times, I have my thumb to the left side of the handle and it gets cut by the blade guard coming up as the saw goes down. The handle is just too close to the blade guard.

I purchased my DW708 at the start of a home renovation project that was almost 4 years in duration. The saw was indispensable due to the detailed trim work with large crown and other moldings. The saw was so impressive two men on my crew purchased their own. The time and money I saved was significant. The saw has been very reliable and has stayed in balance. The saw is a bit heavy but I believe this only adds to its stability. My saw is still performing wonderfully after seven years of use.

I had been eyeing this product in the stores for years, but could never afford it. Then Amazon.com offered it at an unbeatable price.
I have had the saw about two years now and I must say it is worth every penny I spent on it. I am an amateur woodworker and the precision this saw gives me is superb. Moreover, it is very flexible in its set-ups allowing me to do things I couldn't imagine doing two years ago.
As always, Amazon.com made the process easy and fast.

I could not make a review without any stars but I would have to give this saw ZERO STARS. I have been in the construction business for 40 years and bought on of the first electric miter boxes Rockwell 9". I had 27 men working at one time and we probably have used every brand size and style of miter saw made (exept Hatachi and Craftsman - toy miter saws). Usually haveing 4 or 5 going constantly all day, on wood, metal, and plastic. This is the worst of all of them. It has been used on 3 jobs and has had the motor replaces twice...uh..that is once after each job. It was never used for anything but its intended use and not hard or long .....last time we were needing it on a job, the lead man said he could do it better with a makita 12" circular saw.. and it may have seemed a little slower until you take in account, I did not have to take it for repairs or pay for a third motor. I think it will make a good boat anchor. I am not prejudice I have many Dewalt tools but this is one not to buy. hw
