Used mainly for shaping and polishing rocks it can also clean hardware..
I learned from the start to give the unit a quick double check on the pulleys used to operate it, sometimes they are not true..Once adjusted though the belt will last a very (6 months) long time..Thats the only problem with these units..I also found a quick fix with a rubber band when the belt does break..Even a vacuum cleaner belt is a great replacement.

Keep the bushings oiled and it will outlast the thumblers version..

Keep the stones rolling.

In the first week the belt broke took a week to get a new belt then a week later the moter burned out tried to get harbor freight to cover it they send there calls to new delley and they give you the run around by the time you finnished you will be disapointed!!!!!!

Along with poor shipping and the belt breaking after the first day it was running, I found the smell of the rubber overwhelming. It filled the entire basement with a strong mothball smell.
I purchase new belts on Ebay (that I don't need now cause I plan on getting a refund from harbor-freight.) While I waited for the belts, I used a rubber band (s). I'd move on to a Lortone. Thats were I'm going.

Belts break! [Posted on 2008-04-01]
The belt broke after 2 days. I ordered new belts from Harbor Freight and they want to charge you $7 for shipping alone! I figured as long as I'm paying $7 dollars for shipping I may as well order a few extras. Glad I did. I've had about 12 days of total run time and have gone through 4 belts already. I've tried adjusting the pulleys and the belts are still breaking. The last one at least lasted about 4 days (a new record). If the belts lasted longer this would be a good machine but until they come up with a better belt I don't recommend this machine. You can probably buy a decent one for an extra $20 and based on how long the belts last it should pay for itself in a couple of weeks.

The bearings in the motor had a build up of rust. After replacing the motor bearings the motor was silent. After replacing the second belt I repaired both belts with super glue. and have not had any problems with the repaired belt. I have over 2 months on the 1st repaired belt.
