The inside is tapered to provide better air flow.
This item is perfect to connect the porter cable hose to your shop vac at less than half the price of the porter cable model

Originally order item because item dimensions matched my delta 14" band saw but did not fit. But worked great for my 15" miter saw. Fit perfectly with the miter saw's dust adapter.
