Pretty Good [Posted on 2001-01-14]
This glue is pretty good. I tried it after having two staining projects end up with small white marks in the edges -- it is very difficult to completely clean and sand out the Titebond well enough for stain. This glue appears to be quite strong and accepts stain reasonably well. You still need to sand and smooth out the glue that expands out of the joint. However, if you miss a little bit it is alright. It is also reasonably easy to cleanup with just mineral spirits. For me this product doesn't replace Titebond for general carpentry or for projects that will be painted, however it has my buisiness in the future for stained projects.

I have used several contractor grade glues and this is the best stuff so far. Not near as pricey as Gorilla Glue and works great. Would recommend to anybody.

This glue's gap-filling foaming action does a great job of compensating for imperfectly straight edges at glue joints, and its strength is quite good--I've laminated a number of slightly warped 1x12's together edge-to-edge, and have yet to have a seam split after clamp removal. My one complaint against this glue (and this failing is not unique) is that where is foams out of a seam onto adjacent board face, it tends to make the wood "stain repellant," leaving a lighter-staining streak along glue joints, often with a dark line in the center, due to the cured glue itself taking up stain avidly into its open-cell structure once sanded. Dusting lightly pre-stained sawdust onto the uncured glue in poorly appoximated joints helps ameliorate this problem.
