worked once [Posted on 2008-03-01] I got the machine it worked once great. The second time, it didn't even work at all. JUNK!JUNK!JUNK!
pass on this one [Posted on 2008-03-01] I am surprised at Black and Decker for letting such a piece of junk bear their name. You will spend more time fighting this thing to keep it working than you will power washing. The hose connections are all plastic and apparently can't take the pressure. The hose shoots off the base of the unit about every 10 seconds. I even tried duct tapping it on to no avail. I fought with the thing for a year, used it about 5 times. It sat for 6 months and now it will not work at all. I threw it in the trash. If you have spare $89, throw it in the street instead of buying this. It will save you the aggravation.
Good Pressure Washer [Posted on 2008-03-20] I have used this pressure washer for several hours now and it does a good job cleaning off ground in dirt from concrete. The hydro attachment even removes paint droppings except on course surface concrete where the paint has become embedded. It removes surface stains but naturally does not remove set in stains. I have not yet tried using it with detergent cleaners so it may even do better when I do. For now I'm doing overall cleaning and will come back for spot cleaning later. From my on line research on pressure washers, this unit is doing somewhat more than expected at this pressure. I'm well satisfied with it.
Good Value [Posted on 2008-04-11] The pressure washer was in like-new condition. It is very easy to use and maneuver. It was missing some of the assembly hardware which I replaced. It works as advertised but the gasket/debris screen at the water inlet falls out each time one disconnects the hose from the unit. I might consider a different manufacturer's unit next time.
Good when it shipped [Posted on 2008-05-04] I bought the item on good faith in B&D's reputation, but since globalization and other manufacturing and marketing changes have warped former expectancies of any product's condition, I assumed a cautious attitude when I assembled this product as received. On inspection, several items were missing due to poor packaging and careless handling. My luck held out until the product was completely assembled with some missing screws which had fallen out of the plastic baggie in which they were poorly sealed. Despite the missing screws, the unit was connected and tested with difficulty. At first, the pressure did not increase until all air was expelled from the system. The safety trip on the electrical connector had to be reset several times, and, learning to allow the water pressure to build up before continuous operation became possible, was frustrating. However, upon persistant effort and careful trial and error, it finally responded as expected according to the learning curve it demanded. The instructions were meager in providing clues to remedy interruption of functions, but care and patience did finally result in satisfactory performance. I believe the unit was built and shipped within the limits of specifications, but poorly packaged, handled, and documented. It is still in service and I will keep it as is.
