I needed to have some window treatment crown molding replaced on my historic home. I was able to buy this saw for about the price that our contractor wanted to charge per window. The saw appeared brand new and works great. I have completed the project with ease thanks to a well built tool. The crown-molding presets were a great help.

I just opened my new (reconditioned) DeWalt saw and what a blast! I had been using a borrowed Delta 10" saw, and for what it was it did a great job framing our new gas fireplace surround. However, I was amazed after making a few cuts with the DeWalt. Like someone else said, it's like I'd been playing with a toy and now I'm working with a real tool. The cuts were so smooth and sharp, perfect! One note, the invoice said my reconditioned saw would have a 30 tooth blade, but it had a 60 tooth DeWalt construction blade and I was very happy about that. The saw had a couple of very minor marks (not scratches or dents, just some small rubbing marks) on the table, nothing really, but otherwise it looked new. I am very happy with this purchase ($179 through TylerTool) and can't wait for my next project.

I gave this saw a fake 5 star rating because that is what it deserves. Do yourself a big favor and don't purchase any of this remanufactured junk. I took this saw into the Dewalt factory repair shop and got it back in the same condition that it was in when I dropped it off. This purchase was a total waste of time and hard earned money - NEVER AGAIN.
Nothing but problems / Junk [Posted on 2006-09-18]
I use this saw intermittently.
I made about 50 cuts with this saw and the blade started to wobble. Took it back to the service center and they needed to replace all the bearings and other parts.
Made about another 50 cuts in 3/4 inch molding and the motor burnt up.
Never had so many problems with a tool for as little use.
Update: 2 months after getting out of the shop, its back in for blade wobble again. Bearings are messed up again. Thats after making about 100 cuts in 3/4 inch molding.
Thats three failures in one year.
I cannot depend on this thing now and my thoughts about Dewalt have changed also. I will be looking to Porter-Cable or Milwaukee from now on.
A Harbor Freight special would have dusted this thing.

Well, I purchased this saw a few months age and have used quite frequently without issue. I hope I haven't upset the woodworking gods with this review, but for $198 this is a fantastic value. Saw has work perfectly and I have bought other "factory reconditioned" tools also. I have not had a single problem with any of them.
I am not a tool junkie and I don't pretend to know the first thing about bearings, but I know my saw works and it works well. Too many times I read reviews from people who say the tool only worked after they had to basically revamp the thing!!! I go by the old line, "Keep it simple stupid." I plug it in, measure the line, and cut it...Works every time.
