First, I charged both batteries and tested each piece to make sure they worked and had no obvious defects. I was impressed with the solid feel of the tools and the strong torque of the motors. They look and feel like brand new except for an "R" engraved in the black plastic that you have to look for to find. I'm sure you can find better tools but not at this price.

It all works pretty well, but it comes with old-fashioned Ni-Cad batteries (with all the attendant memory problems, relatively short life, etc.).
But the tools themselves seem to work very well.

I was looking for a cordless reciprocating saw, but when I saw this kit for a great price, I couldn't pass it up. It is the first reconditioned product I've bought so I didn't know what to expect. When it arrived, I gave it a good going over and most of it appeared to be brand new. I realize the stuff is reconditioned but both saws, the light, and the charger looked like thay have never been used. I'm impressed with the drill. It is slightly smaller and the same weight as my 12volt Dewalt, but it has a lot more guts. I've used it quite a bit and am very happy with it. I've used the circular saw a lot. I'm really suprised how much I've used it. It is so nice to be able to make a quick cut without having to drag a cord out. I love the light. It is in my truck and goes everywhere with me. I've used it for working above drop ceilings at church, in my attic, and as a camping light in the tent. The charger charges the batteries quickly. I like everything about the kit. Oddly enough, the only thing I haven't used yet is the reciprocating saw. I'd definitely buy this kit again, and I will definitely by Hitachi products in the future.
