great cordless kit [Posted on 2005-11-24] I'm not so sure about the recondintioned combo kit, but the new version is superior to other cordless kits I've owned in the past. I've used many different cordless kits and Ridgid has to be the best.
× Very powerful Hammer Drill runs for hours and hours with a single battery's life.
× Circular saw is strong enough to rip boards and not choke.
× Recipricating Saw (Sawzall) is also really powerful for a cordless tool - will run down battery life much quicker than the other tools.
× Even the goofy little flashlight does it's job and has a few convenient features so you can position right where you need it.
× Finish charging 2 batteries at an impressive 30 minutes - well surpassing the charge time of DeWalt, Milwaulkee, Craftsman - you name it.
The saws in this combo definitely eat up a lot of juice at once, but as long as you have a place to charge your batteries, you shouldn't have to sit around waiting for things to charge at you jobsite.
Ok but had problems with the drill [Posted on 2007-10-22] My drill had problems from the start. The trigger was faulty and it sometimes stayed on and also went from 0 to max rpm no matter how softly it was engaged. I sent it to the service center and it took 3 plus months to get it back. The chuck had a serious oscillating wobble to it which they did not even fix. No precision drilling with this tool. the other parts of the kit work adequately for cordless. I prefer my Makita cordless though.
Good for the price. However... [Posted on 2008-05-10] The tools were undoubtely used. The drill was the worst. The main problem was that the battery socket on the drill was broken. The rest Ok. Still worth it.
