Features: Picking a fruit picker [Posted on 2007-10-18] I grew up on land that had been an apple orchard and there were loads of old gnarly apple trees on the property. My father had an apple picker - not sure where he found it - that could be used to pick apples high up on the trees. Now that some of the trees I planted years ago have grown large, I too needed an apple picker. The one I found on Amazon.com is just like my father's and works just great. No moving parts, no batteries - just a simple basket and some foam padding so you can grab the fruit, gently pull it, and it falls into the basket. I love it, and anticipate no problems.
fruit picker [Posted on 2007-10-25] I have a small pick-your-own apple orchard, and by attaching these pickers to 6 ft.pcv poles most people can reach even the highest and hardest to get fruit. Children love to use them. At the end of the season I attach some of them to 12 ft. poles. The only downside is that after 3-4 years the plastic coating wears off and they can rust. I painted those that did. I have been using fruit pickers for many years.
fruit picker [Posted on 2007-11-26] We liked the value and ease of use of this product. It arived in two days!
Fruit picker [Posted on 2007-12-13] Picker arrived very quickly. Went to Lowe's & picked up an aluminum extension pole and mounted the picker on the end. Can get up about 25' and is all I need for my fruit trees.
not for a dense tree [Posted on 2008-06-04] I have a huge and almost 13' tall lemon tree, very dense. It was pruned last fall, still lemon is a lemon. This fruit picker is good but has really hard time getting through the branches of tree like this. It does a job with a bit of hasle.
I assume it would work better on apple or peach tree.
For the money I still highly recommend it.
