Gentlemen; I love everything about my jigsaw... except when I go to connect to dust vacume... the hole inside is blocked completely, even adapter is restricted from going all the way in ???

Leaves marks on wood surface [Posted on 2007-04-22]
The would be a spectacular saw for the price if it weren't for a serious lack of judgement by the engineers who designed it. There are six screws on the bottom that hold a plastic chamber to hide extra blades (2). That is, by the way, where the extra two blades are (everybody else is saying there are only 8 blades when in fact there are 10 if you include the hidden blades in the chamber).

Anyway, back to the point, the underside screws are very shallow (~0.25") so consequently they don't sit flush when screwed in. That results in a non-flat surface on the bottom of the jigsaw. How could the design engineers have missed that? Everytime I use the jigsaw the thing cuts great and the laser works fine but what happens is that the underside screws leave marks on the surface of the wood. If you are cutting quality wood, you'll have to sand the heck out of it to get the deep marks out.

If you don't beleive me, go to Home Depot or Lowes and check out the jigsaw section. You'll notice that every other brand takes great care to leave a smooth, machined surface on the bottom plate that the jigsaw uses to make contact with the wood. Again, how could a company miss this about their saw, makes you wonder about other aspects of it.

I used this jigsaw once on a very expensive piece of wood for my windowsill. I then spent 1/2 hour sanding it to get the marks out of it. I'll be sending this jigsaw to the neighborhood garage sale next month.

This is junk [Posted on 2007-05-12]
Appearances can be deceiving. When I first opened the box it looked like a quality tool. After plugging it in and running it I realized that it was junk. The noise alone warranted inserting ear plugs. It does have speed control, but is erratic. I own, as a carpenter, Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi, and other quality jig-saws. This piece of junk should not be on the market. I thought it would make a good back up tool that I could treat roughly. I'll probably give it away. It's not even worth sending back.

Great saw for the price, at least when I got it. [Posted on 2007-07-09]
I purchased this saw about three months ago. At that time it was half the price ($25). With a new Amazon Visa it was free. I also got a free 360 laser with free shipping. The saw has plenty of power and cuts accurately. I had to cement the laser to the body to lined it up. Several have commented about the base mount screws sticking out and marring wood. That was an easy fix. I just made a thin wood plate and hot glued it to the base. As I have said, this is a nice saw but it is not worth $50.

no sir [Posted on 2008-07-18]
it does not cut straight, just curved to the right. it is better to get a brand name than risk buying this tool. it may work well for you but you will be taking a chance. would not recommend it.
