Garden Weasel [Posted on 2007-09-30] This product works great in the garden and takes a lot of work out of keeping the weeds out !
garden weasel [Posted on 2007-10-12] a great garden tool. sure beats being on your knees or bending over breaking your back. easy to clean
Garden Weasel Weeder Culitivator [Posted on 2008-05-05] Good product. Works well where there is no stones. I also had one back in NY, but small stones kept getting caught in the tines. Works great here in CA though.
Works great with the Claw [Posted on 2008-05-05] This product works great if you use it for it's intended purpose. It's not a motorized tiller so you can't expect it to work exactly like one. I initially work through my garden with the Claw to remove the large weeds. Then follow with the Weasel, which leaves the garden in perfect working condition. Then weekly through the growing season, just run your weasel through your garden and that is enough to keep your garden weed free.
Handle is too short, this tool is a back breaker [Posted on 2008-05-18] Personally I hate this tool. It should be banned. It is a back breaker. Ergonomically, it's one of the worst garden tools you could ever buy or use. Two reasons: One the 44" inch handle is far too short and too light for anyone except a small child to use without stooping over and hurting their back. Fifteen minutes using this tool will most certainly ensure a trip to the chiropractor. Two: A pulling motion, with knees-bent, using legs in a rocking motion is the preferred ergonomic motion for raking or cultivating. If you currently rake or cultivate with your legs straight you will be amazed at the difference when you use your legs instead of just your arms. The Garden Weasel is best used when pushed forward and down and that motion, combined with the short handle, again, will cause the gardening to use the small muscles of the lower back -- ouch! A back breaker. This is why people think garden is work. Beacuse of poorly designed tools like this. How to FIX IT: Make the handle 60 to 72 inches with PVC pipe and clamps. Lengthen it to a full 72". While this does not fix the pushing problem, it does allow the power the cultivator using the legs instead of the back and arms. You will be amazed at the difference this will make!
