Some times malfunction [Posted on 2007-09-24]
Some times when I push the enter button it does not work, or do I need to push it several times.
Also, you must be awake to enter the hour you want it to be started. For example, if you want it to start at 3 AM in the morning, you must be awake to do this.
Misleading illustration [Posted on 2008-04-04] I ordered two of these from ANTOline and when they came they were not the one illustrated. They were the newer design P100 with the red knobs and not the push button setting. The new ones have a problem with setting, the actual time you set it is the time it will come on every day. I want mine to come on at 4:00am so I have to wake up and set it at that time. The old model had a facility where you could set it so it to come on so many hours after you set it. For instance if you set it at 8:00pm you could press the button 8 times and then it would come on at 4:00am.
Having looked everwhere locally for the older design I finally found this on line only to be disapointed when it turned out to be exactly the same one as in the local stores which if I had I bought it locally would have cost less than the on-line one with post and packing.
I assume that the old model is no longer produced even though it is shown on the Gilmour web site. I think the new model should be shown in the illustration to avoid misleading buyers

Good Timer, but it's not the one Pictured [Posted on 2008-04-18] You should note that if you order this timer you won't get the one pictured with the dials on the front. I added a customer image of what you actually will receive in the mail. This switch-a-roo was no biggie for me because I actually already have 2 of the type I received and am very happy with them. Once they are programmed they work reliably and I have never had a problem with them after 2 seasons of daily use. I just bought 2 more making 4 total that I own. They program using audible beeps only, no visual indication of what is programmed. I found the instructions fairly easy to use however you absolutely need the directions to program them. I have done it a few dozen times and I still need the directions. I wouldn't let that worry you though, I think this is the lowest cost timer you can get with multiple watering times and start stops. It's no frills but it gets the job done. Hope this helps.
Worked for one season. [Posted on 2008-05-03] I used it to water my tomato garden. It worked for one season. I stored
it inside for the winter and then when I took it out in the spring
and replaced the batteries, it would not work. JUNK.
Here is what you are getting into with this product... [Posted on 2008-05-10] I ordered one. Got it. It worked for a week just fine until we had a heavy rain. It ceased working. I set it to manual operation to see if it worked and it began to continuously turn on and off until I took out the batteries.
Upon inspection off the battery compartment, I noticed rust. It is my conclusion that these timers are not waterproof at all. The water caused a short circuit and ruined the timer's ability to measure time. Amazon thankfully sent a replacement and as of yet has not charged me for it. With my new unit, that is again necessarily outside, I have covered it with a clear plastic bag in what has so far been a more successful waterproofing than the factory can provide.
Also, not that I really care, but some of you might, the picture of the product when I purchased it did not match the item that I received. The timer pictured had a digital readout and buttons. The timer I received had dials and no readout. Just a word of caution.
Despite all of this, I still recommend this timer, based solely on the negative reviews I have read about other timers. Just make sure It is not exposed to a lot of rain or water.
