Gross Stabil are the best clamps in my lot [Posted on 2006-07-12]
I, like most WoodWorking enthusiasts, have just about every brand, shape, and size clamp out there. When it comes to parallel bar clamps, the Gross Stabil are my favorite. They are much easier to use than either than Jorgys or the Besseys. The handle is much more substantial, and the head locks easier. I know that everyone has their preference, but these are the first ones I grab for large glue ups.

I've gradually acquired several of these clamps as they have been on sale on Amazon. They are broader than my Besseys and more stable when holding panels. Their clamping surface "pads" can slide off if they are bumped enough (Besseys are a solid surface) but this hasn't been enough of an issue to deduct from a good five star rating. If you can get them in one of the various packages of 4 and on sale, too, the price per clamp can be very low.
