Excellent for what it is - a very basic measuring wheel [Posted on 2008-01-07]
For less than ten bucks I wasn't expecting anything amazing, but this wheel had what I needed: small and compact for easy transport, lightweight, and the largest distance before reset for a reasonable price. It's definitely not an all-terrain wheel, but it provides enough outdoor accuracy for my needs. Those who need a more precise measure on non-smooth surfaces should look elsewhere. My only real complaint is that the telescoping arm could telescope a few more inches; I'm only 5'10" and have to lean or hunch a little bit to get this guy to reach the floor. Other than that, it performs as expected in both forward and reverse. The numbers are a bit small so without any audible "I've reached 1000 feet and am starting over" indicator it's easy to lose track of where you are, but the more I use it the better I get at eyeballing it. Overall, excellent quality for the cost.
