A Great Tool Combination! [Posted on 2003-08-13] My girlfriend talked me into buying this drill/combo at Lowes, and I must say I've used it to my heart's content over the past month! Absolutely plenty of torque, easy to use, and the addition of a flashlight... well, it's come in handy for several jobs. Can't say enough good things about this combination cordless tool.
awesome little powerful drill [Posted on 2003-10-03] I am intermediate finish carpenter. I read an article in Popular Woodworking magazing on 14.4 cordless drills. They hit the nail in the head. The performance is awesome. For the money you get what you pay for and more. I recommend this little drill to anybody. I have it as second drill and I would never get rid off it.
Holding up to heavy use... [Posted on 2003-12-14] When I first saw this set I was impressed with how much there was for the price and the apparent high quality. But I decided to wait a while before writing the review to see how it performed in service. I recently completed most of the work on a 650-sq-ft addition to the house. The Hitachi started by drilling holes in the pad and setting concrete anchor screws through the sill plate and finished by driving hundreds of drywall screws. I even dropped it once onto concrete with no apparent damage. I now have very high confidence that this will be a long-lived tool as well as a good-looking and pleasant to use one. Highly recommended. (The work light is nice too.)
Very pleased with this kit [Posted on 2005-03-18] I was so glad I had this drill during the hurricane season in Fall 2004. The first big test beyond small in house projects. We installed and uninstalled steel hurricane shutters twice and thank God we did, the hurricanes came right through my city. Light weight and well balanced in your hand, never needed recharging during the job (over two hours) and torque control. I had to use the flashlight when we lost power and I had two charged battery packs. Very useful in an emergency.
bad cluch [Posted on 2007-08-21] I bought this drill for my wife an daughter in less than a year
The clutch is bad. The drill has driven only sheet rock screws!
