Great Saw combination [Posted on 2006-09-04] I've had this saw a couple of months now. I definitely recommend buying the Supersaw with the Xacta II Fence, as it is a big improvement over the standard Microglide Fence. Jet also appears to have fixed several of the problems earlier buyers of the Supersaw were complaining about, including a very nice dust port beneath the saw. This dust port allows me to easily slide my 4" tube right on, turn on my Jet Dust Collector, and suck out almost all of the dust of every cut. Much improved over the original design. The rails that come with this model are also very nice and easy to assemble, and with the mobile stand and extension table that came with my 30" model, it is a great setup. Very little adjustment required. Assembly took me 3 hours including adjustment time, but the saw is very heavy, and if you're not really strong, you'll probably need help. It came in quite a few boxes. The motor on this baby runs extremely smooth, and cuts everything I feed it. But I did add a nice Freud blade to the saw, which makes a lot of difference. We'll see how the timing belt holds up over time, but so far so good. The extension table is a great addition to this saw as well.
a hybrid in more ways than one [Posted on 2007-02-23] This smooth, well made saw merits five stars but the front and rear rails shown in the Xacta II fence manual were completely different than the ones I got and the mounting instructions made no sense at all. It took a while to figure out that the fence mounts to threaded holes underneath the cast iron top and not drilled through the edge like most saws and like the instructions showed. This system is actually better but Jet needs to update the manual.
