Jorgensen I-Bar Clamps [Posted on 2000-06-11] The I-Bar Clamps from Jorgensen are a step up from the traditional 'pipe clamp' that are very common. My first purchase of the 7200 series clamps was for a large kitchen that I was going to build. I noticed immediately that the I-Bar clamps were very heavy, twice as much as my usual pipe clamps. The heads and armature that tightens the body down on the material needing to be clamped were 30% larger and the I-Bar did not flex under pressure. I used fewer clamps and this allowed for more doors/panels to be glued up based upon the traditional pipe clamps that I had been using. I found the clamps to be very rugged, durable, easy to use, large enough to handle any situation outside the shop, and affordable. These clamps will be replacing any others that I have in my shop.
Big bad clamps!! [Posted on 2001-08-09] I love these clamps. The steel construction is very sturdy, and heavy! When used with the Mastadon pads, they are just perfect to clamp together bookcases, cabinets and other wood projects. I especially like the large crank handles, which provides excellent feedback to the hand on the amount of pressure being applied to the work pieces. If you need to apply a lot of clamping pressure on your project, you can't beat this heavy-duty clamps!
a quality product [Posted on 2007-01-19] I have used these clamps in a woodworking shop that I worked in several years ago...as far as I am concerned ...their may be better clamps on the market but I have not used them...I have used these and know what they can do, I plan to buy a few more ...different sizes for my retirememt shop...I do not plan to buy anything but these as long as they use quality in their clamps
Big work...big clamps [Posted on 2007-05-12] These are the clamps to use for large countertop glue ups, full size interior/exterior doors etc. They help keep large projects flat when aplied one under, one over. These are not for light work such as cabinet doors...they are too strong, too heavy and too expensive. But for big work with sprung joints these are the ultimate weapon. There are no stronger clamps. Pipe clamps bend, aluminum knockoffs twist...these dont give up. They will serve you well for decades. But don't be tempted to order these for light work thinking one size fits all...you will grow into them. These will break your cabinet doors in half and your back trying to lift them. Use the right tool for the job...use this tool for big work!
