I purchased the SL-24 after seeing it demonstrated at a convention.
When I recieved the SL-24 I was very unhappy to say the least.
At the show the guy sat it on the floor and you could see the line for 50feet at least.
Mine would only show up on the floor for about 7 feet. I returned it for a new one and got the same thing back.
The only way to see the line for over 7 feet is to put it on the box it came in.
I would NOT recommend buying this product to anyone. Unless you want to waste your money.

I bought one on Ebay for around $150 and I'd say I got my money's worth. I saw it demonstrated at a show and if you level it and you are on a smooth surface the beam does extend a ways. I tend to use it in the dot mode to locate my 90s and then snap a chalk line. I've even used it at night to locate some 90 to square up a barn. If you are in the tile business it's probably a pretty good time saver. But, before I'd buy one at full price I think I'd get some folding triangles and a chalk line. As I said it's pricey. There are other lasers that are a better value. In my estimation this unit should sale in the $100 to $150 range.
