Just use your pocket, it's a pocketknife. [Posted on 2005-12-03] This is one of the worst holsters I've ever gotten with a knife. nothing but stiff leather, cheap nylon, a couple little slots that you can't fit any accessories in and a nearly nonexistant rear flap that you can't fit a stick of gum in. Just use your pocket, use a tool belt, get one of those mult-holsters and keep it with your flashlight and phone, don't even bother trying to break in this cardboard-like case so you can loop your belt through it.
Yes, I can't give this a 5 [Posted on 2007-04-20] Why can't I give this a 5? Well read and you will know why. First please realize I am a long time owner of the Wave. I have had mine for close to a decade, and during that time I have come to own about 3 sheaths, this being the 3rd. The first one which came with my Wave, the velcro worn, and as a result did not want to stay close. So I then ordered the new Velcro model where you can wear it sideways, which makes concealment that much easier. However, in a short amount of time the straps got worn and that was not possible anymore. So I ordered the leather model instead, but the problem is, unless you wear a really less than wide belt, you will struggle slipping your belt through the strap. At first I thought there was a breaking in period, but it has been many months, and this is still an issue. Other than that it is great, and does what it's supposed to do, but the leather strap could use a little less tension.
Okay... [Posted on 2007-07-24] I agree with comments from previous posts - the leather is quite thick and stiff and it is hard to fit a belt into the belt loop - both for the vertical and the horizontal ways that you're supposed to be able to carry this on your belt. It is actually virtually impossible to slip my usual leather belt for the horizontal position, despite my belt being only 1-1/8" wide. Thankfully the vertical position is still possible. Most of the time, I'll probably just throw the whole sheath into my backpack, car, or toolbox, and I'll only wear it on my belt occasionally so it's not a HUGE deal, but just a minor annoyance. The big plus it has going for it is that it can also hold my Leatherman 42-bit set along with my knife so that I don't have to keep track of two separate sheaths/carrying cases.
durable [Posted on 2008-03-04] This case came with my new model Wave. I have had some of the nylon cases before and they don't seem to wear well. As another reviewer said, the Velcro likes to wear out. So I ordered the wave with the leather case. It has a solid button closure. Yes, the leather is stiff, but if it wasn't...it would wear out quickly....DUHHH! I wear mine vertically and haven't really had a problem getting it on/off the belt. Haven't tried horizontal. I would give it 5 stars, but the little pockets inside the case are very thin. They are wide enough to hold the extra bit sets you can get, but I can only fit in one holder (the set comes with two holders). My work around is to take the 10 or so most commonly used bits and put them in one holder, the other holder sits in a drawer. Not ideal, but it works (most of the time) :)
