Great addition to a great tool! [Posted on 2008-04-17] This bit set is a great addition to my Leatherman Wave, it adds a ton of possiblies to the already great tool. If you use tools everyday with your job or if you're just a do-it yourselfer & have one of the Leatherman tools that will work with these bits, do yourself a favor & pick this set up. They're well made & will definitely be easier than lugging a big toolbox around with you.
Light and comprehensive [Posted on 2008-04-19] This set of tools seems even more comprehensive than hoped for. It is much lighter than the current set I am used to.
An excellent accessory [Posted on 2008-04-23] This kit is an excellent accessory for a number of Leatherman tools. The one and only downside is that the kit is somewhat pricey. You are paying for the form and convenience of Leatherman's "new" bit design. That design is very compact and much more usable than the previous bits, which required a bulky adapter for most tools.
I bought the kit for use with the new Skeletool, which has two bits on board. I can swap them for the ones I need from the accessory kit. In addition, the bit kit comes with a nylon sheath, so you can easily carry all of the bits. I've found that I regularly use certain bits, so I put them on one of the plastic "cards" the bits are stored on, and that's all I carry.
The quality of the kit measures up to Leatherman standards. Everything Leatherman makes seems to be sculpted by an artist, and these bits are no exception. The steel is very high quality, and, so far, I haven't noticed any wear at all.
It's a pricey accessory, but one that I think is worth the cost. I'm happy I bought it, and I'd do so again.
Haven't gotten an opportunity to use this yet [Posted on 2008-05-02] The screwdriver pieces that come with the Leatherman Tool itself get a lot of use, but this extra kit... I have not been able to find a use for it at all. I bought the Skeletool, which has a removeable belt clip on the side. The bit needed to remove and reattach/tighten the removable belt clip's attachment screw doesn't even come with this expanded set, so what good is a removeable belt clip if you can't even put it back on properly or keep it on tight using the tools they give you? Spend your money on something more useful.
useful! [Posted on 2008-05-09] This is a "perfect fit" with the Leatherman knife. Great tool when you go on trip.
