It is a great reel and does what it is supposed to do very well, it arrived ahead of the projected delivery so over the moon at that.
As other people have pointed out the reel supply hose is too short to be of any use in the "real" world, its the small things which make something outstanding and this is one of those small things that lets the product down. I have to ask if the suppliers ever read the comments made on these sites, sure doesn`t look like it.

I started with a pretty sour taste for this product. The first one that I received did not retract no matter what. Luckily Amazon was great about taking it back and shipping me another -- all on their expense. The second works great. It's kind of cheaply built and I wonder how long it will last, but since this is just for my work shop it should last long while. I would definitely not buy this if you were going to use it all day, every day.

I've had it for two months now and it's still working just fine after being used a good amount. I do like the way it winds the hose as it retracts and even when it's out 80' or more it still has enough power to pull it in.

This hose reel is almost all plastic and very thin! I ordered two and both arrived broken in the same place. I would not recommend this product, with light use for the home shop!!! The reel is a bad design and should be taken off the market.

A little disappointing [Posted on 2008-05-02]
Love the 100' hose length. The reason I ordered it. I was disappointed in the spring tension when rewinding it. Although it is adjustable, the instructions recommend only tightening 1 turn past its factory setting. I had to go 3 turns past that just to get it to rewind the hose all the way! Seems OK otherwise, considering it is plastic. Just with the reviews I read, it would be a little "sturdier".

Basically a good value. I haven't had it long enough to fully criticize the device. Plastic is a little scary, but mine is mounted out of the way and hopefully will avoid too much abuse. The rewind could be a little more powerful as the last few feet don't want to fully retract. I think there might be an adjustment that I scanned in the manual, I'll have to look further. So far it has functioned sufficiently for the money. It definitely is nice to have. It serves limited use in my garage, and I didn't see any thing else really competitive, again for the money.
