I have had the reconditioned 18v Li Makita impact for a month now and it's doing great. Came clean, great shape, two new batteries, clean case. I love the case which has the compartments for driver bits. I love the action of this tool. Great performance, and no sign at all that it has been reconditioned. Feels like new. I hope everyone's luck is as good as mine, and that my luck continues. Knock on wood.

This is THE one to have! I use this all day everyday! I have tried them all. Makita makes all their hand tools with the pro in mind.This particular impact is not only the strongest but it is also very light and compact. The built in light comes in handy too! The lithium batteries recharge in no time at all! The hex insert can accomodate drill bits,sockets and driver tips and can be stored in the cool new see-through lid! Little bit pricey but worth every penny.

Impact driver...mmm. When I read that I automatically discounted the tool as being the choice for driving deck screws and generally using it as a screw driver. When I think of "impact tool" I think of a tool that is used on nuts and bolts. I gotta tell ya, this tool really does do a good job of driving screws. I put it through its paces today driving anything I could get may hands on in my shop. It did not even labor when driving 3" deck screws or 1/4" hex head screws in to cherry. It will no longer just take up space on my shelf. This will become my primary driver for screws. It is missing a torque limiting adjustment like a true screw driver. I can give it a thumbs up on its ability to do the job, but I did not drive enough screws to report on how the battery holds up. But, if the battery holds up in use with the impact driver like it does with the other tools in the 7 piece LXT kit I'll be happy.

tighten lag bolts connecting two pieces of engineered LVL beams 1.5". These beams weighed over 170lbs apiece and are really solid. However, this outrageous tool drove the bolt AND washer INTO the wood and countersunk them. It was so strong I think that it could have pushed the bolt THROUGH the wood/washer. This was a big washer too probably 1". Then I did the same thing with carriage bolts w/ one washer, so it was no fluke. Yet still, SOMEHOW it was a breeze to use and not hard on your wrist at all, as is a spade bit and a strong drill if you're not ready. I also used it a bit for automotive, but I want the other impact 1/2" drive and to keep it separate. I like the light, and the clip.
