Cut through shingles like a knife through warm butter [Posted on 2007-01-04] Never having stripped a roof before, I bought 2 "Beasts" at Amazon and one "Brand X" shingle remover off the shelf at the local hardware store to make sure I'd have a tool that actually worked well. The difference in the tools was AMAZING. The Beast made the awful, tough job of shingle stripping almost fun. This thing effortlessly EATS shingles and nails like I never imagined a tool could! The other, cheaper tool was an exercise in futility and frustration. It took a LOT more energy and effort to use than the Beast, and removed a lot less shingles in more time. After a very short period, the guys helping me would ONLY help if they could use a "Beast". I was skeptical that a tools design could make so much difference, but the claims are true. BUY IT!!
Shingle remover [Posted on 2007-03-30] Definitely the best shingle remover on the market. Be prepared to replace the
nuts on the bolts that hold the shovel to the handle with locking ones because the original ones will vibrate loose.
ok but not as easy as a [Posted on 2007-05-19] regular roofing shovel...no leverage here is the issue the curve of the tool or lack there-of works against you.
We've bought 3 [Posted on 2007-10-19] We first bought this tool for my father when he was planning a roofing job. When the project began they called to say what a great tool it was, so we ordered another. Now everyone we know who is working on their roof asks to borrow them. We've even bought a 3rd. Greatest thing since sliced bread!
Great Tool [Posted on 2008-09-27] Worked along side others using straight edged tools....after a short period of time they wanted to use mine. With much less effort than my friends, lifted nails, staples, and three layers of old shingles. Even did a job on the ice and water--very difficult to remove underlayment after the others had given up on it. I would recommend this tool to anyone undertaking a major roof overhaul.
