Can't Unlock [Posted on 2003-01-04] I purchased this item & now we can not get it off the gun.. You say it is easy, the store that carries this procust can't even get it off.... Supposed to have a button unlock feature when not locked with key. IT DOES NOT WORK CAN'T REMPVE IT!
Don't loose the key [Posted on 2007-05-15] I have had a master lock trigger lock like this for years and have never had a problem with it. It fits reasonably well on my revolver without any modifications. I am not sure what the other reviewer is referring to about a button unlock but there are one or two yellow buttons on the inside, the part that grips the trigger guard. If you lock this thing on your gun and loose the key you better hope the locksmith will work on it or you are going to damage your gun trying to take it off. If you use this trigger lock as designed it should not harm your gun nor should you have any problems with it keeping your guns secure from acidental discharge. No lock is perfect; this one does keep the gun reasably "safe."
Safe and sure! Not for the careless [Posted on 2008-01-24] Master Lock has been making these trigger locks for years. I've used mine for about 20 years now. This lock secures even a loaded revolver from almost any mistakes or carelessness. Except for two careless types. Always make sure the lock bolt is behind the trigger as the lock can be mistakenly placed in front, which will allow the action to continue to work. The second type of carelessness - the guy who can't keep track of his keys. The fact that you cannot get this off without the key is a testimonial to their safety. Perhaps this is a good thing, protecting us all from the careless. I've yet to see anything better, except maybe the new keyless(combination) locks.
