Milwaukee Orbital Finish Sander is a great value for the money. [Posted on 2007-12-17] The Milwaukee Orbital Finish Sander has good power and feels well built as it's name should imply. Good value for the money and quick shipping. Right on time! Tom from South Haven
little powerhouse [Posted on 2007-12-17] does a nice job, quiet, nice fit in the hand and does what it's supposed to do. leaves a clean finish.
Good palm sander [Posted on 2007-12-18] Product works as expected from a quality manufacturer like Milwaukee. Much faster than hand sanding, and very smooth.
Great for small jobs [Posted on 2007-12-18] I like being able to buy regular sheets of sandpaper rather than specially cut (and more expensive) papers I need for my other hand sander. And I especially like how the sander fits in my hand. It's very comfortable to use over long periods of time.
The down side: changing sandpaper isn't as easy as slapping an expensive, felt-backed sheet of sandpaper on a velcro base. This Milwaukee sander uses common flat sheets of paper. You have to 1/4 cut the standard sized sheets all by yourself. (And if you find this too difficult, you can buy 1/4 sheets. Hint: fold it in half, tear it on the fold; fold it in half, tear it on the fold. I'm joking about it being too difficult, but you really can buy 1/4 cut sheets if you want to strongly support the manufacturers' profit margins.) To install the paper, you pull out a small bar on each side, then lift up to open the clamp that holds the paper in place. The first edge isn't too difficult. The second edge takes a little more time (and practice). This small effort gives you the opportunity to use flat sheets of sandpaper that you can buy anywhere, in in any type.
Bottom line: this Milwaukee does a good job! I'll stick with it.
Does a good job [Posted on 2008-03-23] This sander does a fine job and is quite comfortable to use.I use the adhesive back sheets of sandpaper so I cannot comment on whether the latches are hard to use or weak as some have stated. It does do the job I intended to use it for and at less than $30.
