Best of the Best [Posted on 2000-07-10] You will be happy with the purchase of this saw...it has power, accuracy, ease of use and safety all in one. We are extremely tough on saws and this one has handled every thing that we have thrown at it. The drop foot feature is great and the table is rock solid on the money-all of the time. Milwaukee makes great products.
A minor quibble [Posted on 2006-09-29] I read a number of excellent reviews of the Milwaukee circular saws before deciding to get this one. I'm happy I did. With Amazon's rebates, the saw was a good price and it was well-packaged. Milwaukee makes great tools. I do like the larger foot that allows me to use a straight-edge guide on either side of the saw without the motor getting in the way. The adjustments are easy. The saw is powerful and accurate. The brake is worth the higher price. The on-board wrench is a nice feature. On the down side, I am a bit disappointed that the brushes are not accessible without opening the case. Also, since this saw does not come with a case I purchased a plastic case to go with it (Milwaukee 48-55-9166). However, this saw's larger foot does not fit in this case. Still, I'm keeping the saw. I'll get a larger case.
great saw! [Posted on 2006-11-24] talked to all my friends about which brand of saw to get and also what features to look for. they all agreed that a milwaukee saw with an electric brake is the way to go. the only problem was that it didn't come with a case. i felt that a tool of this quality should come with a case. the saw itself is great. it's light-weight and easy to handle. this is very important to me since i am left handed, and tools tend to be for right handers.
Powerful and built rugged [Posted on 2007-12-18] I recommend this saw. I look at the other major brands and went with the Milwaukee because of the Milwaukee brand in being tough. I have a Milwaukee drill for over 25 years and it has been very dependable and going as good as the day I bought it. This was a little more money than some of the other brands of equal size, but in tools you get what you pay for.
I like the braking feature it offers and bought this particular model over another for that reason. It is hard to beat the quality of this saw. Easy to change depth and angle controls. For a saw its size it is light and still powerful. So far I have cut 3/4", 5/8" and 1 1/4" plywood with an assortment of 2x4's and 2X6's with no problem with bogging or slowing down.
