SUPER SAWZALL 6536-21 DUD [Posted on 2007-05-31] WTF! USED SAW THREE TIMES AND IT NOW WON'T CUT. IT SEEMS TO HAVE LOST IT'S SAWING ACTION.I CUT SOME EXHAUST PIPE'S THEN USED IT ON A FEW WOODEN PALLETS.THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THAT I PURCHASED IT
WITH IN THE LAST MONTH AND AMAZON IS GOING TO REPLACE IT.
inferior [Posted on 2007-06-15] We demand real work from our tools on real building sites. We purchased this tool and found frustrations quickly. If you don't hold the shoe adjustment lever closed with your hand it will vibirate loose and release the pivot shoe continously. We were demolishing a roof and it lasted all but four hours and then began "slipping" full time. The motor would run but the blade action lost all power. We had it replaced with another and it's cutting action began slipping right out of the case. We were cutting through 3/4" buffalo board and 3/4" pine siding, yet it kept slipping. We returned it to. The 20 year old Milwaukee sawzalls came out again and continued the job! I don't know if I will buy anymore Milwaukee tools because this has sure tainted our past success with Milwaukee tools.
Not the Sawzall of yore... [Posted on 2007-07-08] I am a heavy Sawzall user, having used-up two Milwaukee Sawzalls. I had great luck with Milwaukee Sawzall number one and two, so when two wore out and died after a long, useful life, I saw this Orbital Super Sawzall on Amazon and purchased my third Sawzall.
I got about 3-weeks of use out of it and absolutely hate it! The Orbital feature is not all that great, and the selector switch to go between Orbital and reciprocating is designed poorly - my switch never worked easily and broke completely after 3-weeks, rendering the saw pretty much useless.
I am an avid tool junky and they get heavy use, having restored many vintage cars, remodeled (GUTTED) two houses, and as an owner of rental property. But I may never buy a Milwaukee Sawzall again after this experience.
All I ask for is a competent reciprocating saw, I don't need it to orbit or rotate or do any tricks...this saw does not fit the bill. I have had great luck with my Bosch jig saw and Compound-Miter-Chop saw that I will probably expand my Bosch tool set and get my next "Sawzall" from them...
bought this for the hubby [Posted on 2008-01-07] Hey men and their tools huh ? Ok, the husband says he wants this so I bought it for him for his birthday. Now on most days, it is hard to keep his attention when I talk but if we touch on the subject Sawzall, then I have his undivided attention, lol. This saw still is working and I don't hear any swear words, so I think he is pleased with it.
do not buy [Posted on 2008-08-15] I bought this tool a year ago. After two weeks it would heat up so hot you could not hold it. Then it lost all power...It has limped along since then.
