I purchased this item with high expectations since I have owned their other products in the past with no problems. I needed a hose reel with a larger capacity and this one fit the bill. BIG MISTAKE! There are multiple design flaws with this product. The rewinding mechanism works as promised, HOWEVER, the item falls apart when mounted to a wall. The rewinding unit just snaps into the wall mount and there is no way of securing it permanently. Thus, the reel will fall off the wall under any kind of load. Also, the hose does not "AUTO TRACK" as on their other models. Thus, the hose would often get stuck and you would have to manually feed the hose. This definitely defeats the purpose of this product. I love these types of hose reels, just not this one. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

This is a pretty good product. I have mine mounted on the ground with the stakes provided. No problem, but I can't comment on its suitability for wall mounting. I suspect it would work OK if securely mounted with four bolts. I do notice that the manufacturer's site says floor mounting, with no mention of wall mounting.

It is true that it does not have the level wind mechanism, and requires hand guiding. But I have no difficulty feeding the hose with my hand or foot to assure that it winds on the reel evenly. My wife can do it, too. The level wind mechanism would just add mechanical complexity and cost, so I have no complaint at all about its absence.

I must say, however, that the short length of connector hose they supplied did not inspire confidence, as it swelled up under pressure in the sun. I replaced it with a piece cut off my Craftsman lifetime warranty hose.

We are very happy with this and its smaller brother.
