This device is great if you are using good paint brushes. The brush is first cleaned in an appropriate solvent or water. The brush is then inserted in the device and the handle is pulled and pushed causing the brush to spin at a high rate slinging the solvent or water and paint particles from the bristles. I have not used it on paint rollers but it should work just as well. Good brushes and good paint rollers work better than cheap ones (usually) and need to be cleaned well to give long life.
