Customer Reviews:

Excellent power in a compact drill [Posted on 2007-04-14]
I love this drill and would recommend it to tradesmen and homeowners alike. This a powerful, well engineered, and refined drill. I also own a Milwaukee 28 volt drill and would recommend it as well for more demanding jobs. The panasonic is made of high quality components and the batteries are some of the best I have ever used. You get a lot of work from these batteries. I don't understand why Panasonic doesn't market their tools more than they do. They are clearly some of the best cordless tools on the market today.
Don't hesitate to buy this drill. You won't regret it.

Excellent Drill [Posted on 2007-05-18]
I have been searching for a drill to replace my aging 12 volt Dewalt, a drill I had been fairly happy with. I looked at the new 18 volt Dewalts, and was not that impressed, their quality has seemed to decline. I really liked the Milwaukee, but it was too heavy and cumbersome for the projects I work on. Luckily a friend has a 15.6 volt Panasonic. I was very impressed. The 15.6 volt was more powerful than another friends 18 volt Ridgid. Then the 18 volt Panasonic has to comparable to the 19.2 and 24 volt other brands right? So along those lines I purchased the EY6450. (At first I wanted a Metabo Lithium Ion 18 volt drill, but the high price and no local sales/service center and lackluster reviews turned me away.) This drill is awesome. I put it on the scale. Only 5 ounces heavier than my 12 volt Dewalt. This drill is very powerful, be careful sinking screws into furniture. Battery life has been excellent, usually lasting 3 nights in the workshop before needing a recharge.

The chuck took a little getting used to, with the weird ratcheting noise, but it seems to grip small bits well. The chuck holds drill bits much better than the Jacobs on my Dewalt. This drill is the best cordless drill I have used. Period. While my use is not Industry/Construction, I use it daily. A note on battery price. The last time I purchased batteries for my 12 volt Dewalt (2 years ago) they cost $88 a piece. For NiCad's. The Panasonic NIMH batteries are $110. A much better value in my opinion. Highest possible recomendation.

This is THE cordless drill!!! [Posted on 2007-07-09]
I've owned DeWalt 9.6V - a nice way to start, an Hitachi 14.4V - a better way to continue and now the only way to finish, a Panasonic 18V. Check out the specs of the likes of Metabo, Makita, Ramset, AEG, Hitachi, DeWalt etc and you'll find the highest battery rating is 2.5AH. This little beauty, and its equally impressive young brother the 15.6V, use nothing less than 3.5AH batteries - that's one hell of a lot more grunt to do REAL work. Apart from this it is a beautiful piece of equipment - maybe a bit heavy (but it is 18V) but beautifully balanced.

Wouldn't have expected it [Posted on 2007-08-23]
This drill puts all others to shame. I have worked with them all over the last 27 years and feel comfortable saying that so far this is the best. It was recommended by a fellow cabinetmaker that had been through the same battery and inconsistent wows. I found his recommendation hard to believe but he was very adamant about it, and now I know why.

best cordless drill [Posted on 2008-04-23]
This drill is the best cordless I have used, and I have used Black and Decker, and Dewalt.
The power is unequaled.

I am so glad I bought this drill!!
