Good for smaller jobs. [Posted on 2002-12-14] I tiled my whole house using only this saw to cut tile. My bathrooms are done in 12" ceramic tile. This saw worked great for these jobs. The rest of my house is done in 18" porcelain tile(much, much harder than ceramic) I went through 2 blades and wore out the seals on the motor saw shaft. The saw is almost dead(leaking water) and had me worried on the last room, but it held out. I recommend a more heavy duty saw for porcelain and big jobs. This saw is very slow in these areas. The positives of this saw are the price, it does work, and the blade is small enough combined with the design of the saw to make cuts out of the middle of tiles to go around walls at door entrances and obstacles. My house looks great, and we saved thousands(yes several thousands) of dollars in labor costs doing it ourselves. The video that comes with the saw is good. 5 STARS for small jobs and ceramic tile. 3 STARS for big jobs and porcelain tile.
Good for small jobs. [Posted on 2003-03-01] It works effectively. Good for small jobs. With alittle shopping at your local Home Depot or home warehouse and a few bucks more, one could be found that is twice the quality fairly easily.
where can i find replacement parts [Posted on 2004-02-01] i purchased the plasplugs 4-1/4 diamond tile cutter and on my first job the miter fence tabs broke off and now i can't use the fence. i am willing to purchase a new one, but where thanks john
Great saw for the price [Posted on 2004-08-05] I used this saw to cut ceramic tile for my kitchen, dining room, and a long hallway. The saw worked great and is still going strong. Sure, it's a bit messy, but what wet saw isn't. Take your time with the cuts and it will do well.
For the money it's a fantastic deal [Posted on 2007-01-31] I've owned this saw for five years and it's held up through eight projects, including slate and porcelain floor tiles up to 12". Renting a big saw for these projects would have run about five times the purchase price of this saw. Owning this not only saves money, it allows the cutting to be spread out over days as you plan your layout on the fly. And between jobs it's so compact it fits on a shelf--it even has a carrying handle! It's given good straight cuts with the help of the ripping fence. It can't be counted on for accurate angle cuts, but those are rare in most projects. It's just now wearing out and I'd like to replace it with an identical machine--very sad that they're no longer on the market.
