This Is The One !!!!!!! [Posted on 2005-09-10]
If you want to get the most out of your Porter Cable 19.2v tools, THIS IS THE BATTERY FOR YOU !! This is an upgrade battery for many of the Porter Cable cordless tools using the 19.2v batteries. You should notice an improvement in run-time and maybe power. Overall performance with the 2.4 ampere hour rated battery has been noticeable to me and I will continue to pay the extra bucks for this replacement battery.(If I ever need another one.) If you have nothing better to do, take a look at my other reviews on 19.2v Porter Cable batteries and you will see why I feel so strongly in favor of this replacement battery.

Pricey... But the QUALITY IS WORTH IT! [Posted on 2005-11-24]
I am an avid woodworker/metalworker who demands much from my tools. I have owned Craftsman, Dewalt, Mikita, Milwaukee and Porter-Cable corded and cordless power tools and I must say my 3 year old Porter-Cable 19.2 Volt cordless drill can allways be counted on. Believe me I have put this baby thru some abuse; charging the batteries in the extremes of temperature both hot and cold, dropping the drill off roofs and running the motor for long periods of time. The drill and batteries still charge like the day they were new! On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate Porter-Cable a 9 only because of the added weight of using glass-reinforced plastics in both its batteries and drill houseings, which make the plastic all the more durable I might add though. The other companys drills quality wise on a 1 to 10 scale I would rate as follows...
Dewalt - 7 Excelent battery run time but short life
Milwaukee - 9 Excelent battery run time but cheesy plastic
Mikita - 6 OK battery life but bad run-time
Craftsman - 4 TERRIBLE battery LIFE, TERRIBLE RUN-TIME and plastic stabilizing gears in clutch on INDUSTRIAL Series Drills!!

Poter-Cable 19.2v tools [Posted on 2006-04-27]
Even though the PC brand has always been very respected by me, as of late they have really been letting me down. I purchased 2 new batteries exactly 1 year ago and they are already junk, even under light use and complete cycling. The reciprocting saw fell apart, and the circular saw has no lasting power as compared to other brands.
Even though I don't want to, I will be replacing them with a different brand, maybe the new Millwaukee or the Ridgid line , as Ridgid offers free replacement batteries for the life of the tool, a definite plus.

Junk Batteries [Posted on 2006-06-18]
I've had to replace my charger, and purchase two new batteries (8823 Model) (which lasted only 1 year of minor use). I am very disappointed in this product and Porter Cable will no longer receive my business. The batteries should at least be cheaper if they won't last long. Never again...
Porter Cable should be ashamed.

Porter cable is not what it used to be, don't buy this product [Posted on 2008-07-13]
The batteries hold a nice charge, when they function correctly. I've had just a little over 2 years, only recharged a handful of times (didn't get a lot of use in) and now it won't take a charge. This is poor quality. I think the suggestion to look at something like Rigid is a good one, that's where I'm headed.
