Good product ifor a handyman who can fix it the first day [Posted on 2008-04-07]
We bought this to use on our ranch around the electric fence that is about 4" off the ground. It is an inexpensive replacement for a hand-held trimmer. It is easier to handle than a hand-held trimmer and more powerful. We have had this trimmer for two or three years.

What can break on a trimmer broke starting the first day. The throttle lever broke. I eventually used a washer, a sheet metal screw and some JB Weld to secure the cable to the side of the handle. This has worked perfectly. Also, a spring broke on the clutch lever and the belt broke. I replace the spring, but, of course it is a special size belt and since it broke on a weekend I drilled different holes in the drive housing and used a sturdy belt. We ordered the belt online which was expensive. Then, I repositioned the housing in the previous configuration and replaced the belt.

Also, the bearing on which the trimmer turns, pushes up into the housing, and the belt comes off as soon as you rest the trimmer works on the ground for a few days of trimming. Finally, I glued the bearing into the bearing housing with (again) some JB Weld. That worked.

One really good thing about this mower is that it has a powerful motor and a thick line that is hard to break and easy to replace. My advice - be ready to fix it the first day. Ya know? Have some JB Weld on hand. Or, you'll have a nice motor sitting around just lookin' pretty. Keep in mind that if you are not good at fixing things you need to pay more for your high-wheel trimmer. You get what you pay for.

I gave this product a 4 because it was inexpensive and that is important to me, because what is a high-wheel trimmer? A motor and a couple of pulleys and 2 big wheels. The main ingredients are in this trimmer, and it does a good job.
