Extended reach [Posted on 2008-06-09] Remington 10-Inch 1.5 HP Electric Pole-Mounted Chainsaw #PS1510A Great little chain saw to use on or off the pole. I found the saw a little difficult to manipulate when you use the saw's adjustable part of the extension pole.
Very Nice Saw [Posted on 2008-06-11] I opted for the 10" bar over the 8", not so much for the two extra inches length but because the extending pole is a sided aluminum one instead of the round one in the 8". Oil feeder works well on mine, contrary to some reports. Assembly was a 15 minute snap. I'm not a young man and the saw fully extended gets a little heavy but never to the point of having to quit to rest often. Once the limbs are on the ground using the saw detached is A-Okay too. I would recommend this pole saw to anyone wanting to stay off ladders to limb a tree up from the bottom. I personally am getting too old for ladders.
Testosterone on a stick [Posted on 2008-06-19] Nothing like a chain saw to bring one's manliness to the fore. This one is more powerful than I anticipated, and the fact that it can be used both at ground level targets and those in the air is an added advantage. The saw attaches easily to the pole. Trimming that limb over your fence, no problem (assuming you don't smash the fence). Cleans up yard trash in a snap. I did not experience the oil leakage described by others. The chain doesn't turn fast enough to burn, so oiling isn't as critical as with a gas saw. And the fact that it's green will appeal to your feminine side.
Not bad at all... [Posted on 2008-06-30] OK...so I'm too old, fat and weak to stand on ladders and hold my 18 inch McCulloch sideways and trim bushes. After reading reviews here I picked the Remington 10 inch pole mounted chainsaw to give a run. I am only half-way through the job and if this thing gets it done then breaks it was worth the $100. Oil can be a bit leaky but you have to monitor how much you are pumping it. So far so good...I wish I bought one of these years ago. It's actually suprisingly powerful as well and this particular model lets you detach the saw to use by hand.
This little machine does the work [Posted on 2008-07-13] I have used a number of trimming devices to cut limbs around my property. This little machine made short work out of some limbs I wanted to get down that were either too high...or too thick to cut with other means. Its easily assembled or disassembled and it cuts through like butter. Easy to handle while its in action, and easy to handle when its made its cut. I'm very pleased with this saw.
