Bag Replacement [Posted on 2006-07-11] I found an online site to get bags at outdoordistributors.com. Better to call 1-877-70Parts and order to make sure you get the right connection shape. One bag costs $24.01. We have had 2 bags break in the past 4 years. Very poorly constructed. Both the zipper and the actual bag material have broken.
RESV1300 Long Term Review [Posted on 2006-08-13] After >5 years of use of this product here are my results.
- Great convenience between blower / vac - blow area to a pile then vac / mulch or trash can...
- Yes big rocks or hard objects will break an impeller blade - I broke the opposite blade off (for balance) and now I have a turbo model..spins faster / louder ~slightly better performance.
- Once a year or so I file off the end of the blower nozzle to remove the turned plastic edge that accumulates after repeatedly scrapeing concrete
- I rarely let the bag fill all the way up and have never broken a seam or zipper; however, the plastic bag clip finally got brittle and broke. Safety wired since I use the zipper exclusively.
- Finally, I wrap the cord 2X around the handle before plugging in...I occasionally loose a connection if I'm pulling the cord with the machine vs. by hand.
- Overall a great and durable investment - works as advertised and works for me...
Okay for only for 1-2 years [Posted on 2007-11-04] It's early November in the Northwest and I still have another 3 weeks of leaves to blow and vac. Unfortunately my Ryobi RESV1300 mulching blower vac won't make it thanks to their defective zipper issue. It's annoying, especially for the price I paid. Of course, it worked great last year.
spend your money on something that will last [Posted on 2008-07-11] The bag on this thing broke after 3 months of use. The only place online that I can find that sells a replacement bag is in the UK...and the bag runs about $48 US dollars - half the cost of the machine in the first place.
Ya....this machine sucks and blows. Literally. Don't waste your money on this product. It will suck your pocket book dry.
Ryobi Vac [Posted on 2008-07-22] I have had my Ryobi RESV1300 vac/blower at least 6 years and the bag just blew out at the zipper. I only use it about 6 times a year due to the weight of it and the mess it creates. The teeth seemed to be dried out and the zipper will not stay closed once you turn on the vaccume. The vaccume is very heavy, cumbersome, and extremely messy due to the mulchinating. Small particulates get thru the bag and cover you in dust once you turn it on. When you open the zipper to empty the contents the fine particulates fly all over and give you another coating of matter.
