Literally falls short and is dull to boot! [Posted on 2007-09-17] I bought the weed whip because I thought it was the longest, but the length given turned out to have been measured down the handle and back to the heel of the blade, then out to the tip: in reality, it is only long enough for a person 5 feet high or less. They also should give us a sharpening file to go with it because it the blades are so dull they could not cut tofu.
Please, some one!!! Make a really long weed whip for tall people and make the blades sharp. I hate noisey electric and gas equipment, but the manual tools are so poor we are forced to waste fossil fuel or let things go. Rise, Ye Sea Slugs!
It cuts down everything [Posted on 2007-10-19] I just got mine. It's just the right length. You use one arm at a time. You use it by swinging it - it cuts in both directions. It cuts down everything in it's path, even some small trees. It doesn't cut grass that well. It was fun to use.
Hint: I bought it at my local hardware (Ace) store. I saved the shipping and it came out a couple of $'s less..

Keep it Green! [Posted on 2008-06-13] SEYMOUR WE-30 GRASS WHIP 45" DARK BLUEMy husband always had an old-fashioned grass whip to use in place of the modern weed whackers. He's not Mr. Greenpeace, however; he just hates the noise of leaf blowers and weed whackers and prefers doing this fine-tuning on our landscape with non-motorized tools. Grass whips are hard to find in the average big box stores and garden centers -- this is exactly like the one he broke after umpteen years with one exception. He claims it is not quite as sharp as his old whip. The best arguments for the use of the Grass Whip? No noise, and no need to run to buy new string every other week for your weed whacker (or having a tough time finding parts and string for an older one!) It also doesn't hurt that they are inexpensive!
It does what its supposed to do! [Posted on 2008-07-11] Nothing fancy, but it works fine. Its not sharp, so you're not going to cut yourself. Probably not the best choice for large areas of tall grass, but for a small yard or just knocking down some weeds, it does the job
