Handy but Weak - Needs a Clutch [Posted on 2008-05-29] I got this for free as part of a deal with a Skil 2372-01 7.2-Volt Li-Ion Power Wrench. I am so happy that I did not spend money for this. Don't get me wrong - it drives screws for very small projects. Its size makes it extremely handy, but be prepared to use your own muscles to finish tightening in at least half of your projects. It's funny because sometimes it over tightens in lighter projects. The lack of a clutch really limits what I will try to do with this. I ended up getting a new battery for my Black and Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-Volt Nicad Cordless Screwdriver with Articulating Head that I've had for years. It's not as small as the iXO, but the clutch, 6 volts, and drill function make it that much more versatile. The iXO is packaged with the short stubby bits that are common with these types of tools which makes it impossible to get into narrow spaces that a normal, thin, screwdriver can. The extension that comes with it is pretty thick. I ended up using longer quick release bits from a Black and Decker kit that I have. Overall, this tool is good to have in the arsenal, but very unnecessary if you have anything similar to the Black and Decker PD600 Pivot Plus 6-Volt Nicad Cordless Screwdriver with Articulating Head that has a clutch and a good old fashioned screwdriver.
small but powerful [Posted on 2008-10-09] great little drill - fits in my hand and lets me finish projects on my ownSkil 2336-02 3.6 Volt iXO Lithium-Ion Cordless Screwdriver
Delightful Little Drill [Posted on 2008-10-09] This little Drill is a wonder of long lasting battery power. Great for small jobs with limited use and does many at one time. I've had it in my tool case for over 6 Months and it still performs as if it were just charged. Easy to carry also, (we use it to remove outlet covers when searching for microphones).
Skil Power Screwdriver [Posted on 2008-10-12] This power screw driver works very well. It has enough torque to handle all applications that I use it for. The battery seems to last a long time.
Keep this in kitchen and put the waffle iron in the garage. [Posted on 2008-10-25] I bought this a year ago. My main criteria: a handy, inexpensive cordless household screwdriver that doesn't have to be thrown out because a NiCad battery gives out. The Skil iXO is a no-frills product, but it meets these criteria perfectly. I keep the case in the kitchen, where I can grab it immediately without searching for my toolbox in a cluttered garage. I don't use it often, but after a year without a single recharge, this little gem is still going strong!
