Disappointing [Posted on 2000-07-03]
The only levels I own are Stabilas. In the past, I had been so disgusted with various non-Stabila levels (particularly M-D, or Mecklenburg-Duncan) that I once threw one (a M-D) into a freshly poured concrete retaining wall for additional reinforcement. When you pay that kind of money for a Stabila level, the idea of purchasing a case to protect it is very tempting. Over the years, during various promotions at various supply houses, I have received cases free with my purchase of Stabila levels. Well, save your money. Just pulling out the level and replacing it at the end of the day wore out the case within two weeks, and I was very careful. The exterior of the case fell apart almost as quickly and the zipper wasn't far behind. The nylon became very brittle so there was no way of repairing the case. Very disappointing for a company that is known for a fabulous product line, unsurpassed in quality and without question the best in its field. I suggest what carpenters and many others such as tile setters do - buy a 3" or 4" diameter 4' to 8' length of ABS (or PVC) pipe, cap one end and put a threaded adapter with a threaded cap on the other.

New Style Case [Posted on 2001-04-03]
We all know how great Stabila levels are, right? But there has been some talk about the quality of the cases. 2 or 3 years ago Stabila had nylon cases that were a little wimpy. This new case is a canvas exterior with a padded, soft interior. This case is far superior to the old style and my company has been very pleased with them. Those of you who have read my reviews know that I have tons of Stabila, including cases, these new cases are very good.

Fits Well [Posted on 2005-10-26]
This product is meant to protect your expensive level. It works great! I hang it by the straps or set it upright and the foam casing keeps the level clean and safe. The bright yellow make it easy to find in a dark, cluttered shop. Just a little pricey is the only downfall.
