Nice Levels [Posted on 2007-01-10] I read lots of reviews, but rarely write them. I am a part time remodeler. Not much to say. I have had other levels that performed as well but you must be very careful with them to keep them operating correctly. The stabila's are accurate any way you hold them and are built to withstand "some" rough treatment. of course I would not intentionally put them to that test. That being said, how many times have you set a level carefully against a wall only to have someone or something knock it over. Your back is turned and you hear it clunk to the floor. With some of my older levels there might be pieces that popped out. These are guaranteed accurate and warrantied. Amazon only combines the 16" level in the promo pack with the 48". I would have preferred the 24" instead but I have found more uses for the 16" them I thought I would. I can actually fit it in my tool bucket or tool bag and kind of use it as a big torpedo type level. With Amazon's pricing and their occasional tool sales you can get the 16" for free in this promo combination. If you value quality tools that will give you a quality result Stabila is worth the price.
Accurate - the best [Posted on 2007-04-28] I'm a weekender but insist on the best. If you need a well made and accurate level, look to the Stabila line. You'll never need to buy another. Stanley, Sears, General, et al do a mediocre job at best when compared to the Stabila levels.
PS: If you like quality, you will also admire these for how well they are made.
They're just OK, nothing special at all !! [Posted on 2007-05-12] Wasn't what i expected. Not as well made as my original 6' and 18" Stabila levels. The surfaces don't look well milled at all and they feel bit cheesy to me. They do work and I guess thats what counts but I guess I got what I paid for. Not the great deal I thought I was getting.
I might think twice before ordering Stabila products again. I ordered them thinking ALL Stabila products were as good as the ones I'd purchased in the past. Not so!
I'm considering purchasing a good small Laser level being that my DeWalt LL is just too big and cumbersome for my purposes at this point and thought about ordering Stabila's but not at this point. I'm afraid of what I might get.
Awesome [Posted on 2007-06-13] I've heard many good things about Stabila. All true. Best levels I've used in my 18 years of woodworking.
Top Quality [Posted on 2007-11-05] You certainly get what you pay for with Stabila. They're certainly more expensive than other brands but their accuracy and durability more than make up for it. I've had my 48" for over 5 years and I'm not gentle with tools. It's still as accurate and straight as it was when I bought it. For most general applications I've found the 48 and 16 the most useful. The 59" comes in at a close second though. It's more useful than it sounds.
