MAX Stick is a good idea but... [Posted on 2007-01-26]
I ordered the MaxStick thinking to use it primarily as a straightedge for cuts with a circular saw. It may be handy in some cases for that use, but I never got to try it because Amazon shipping does not package this item so that it arrives in good shape. The first shipment came in badly bent and the replacement shipment was scuffed and dinged. I returned it too.

The yellow scale on the straight edge is a strip of tape that is stuck on. This scale on the replacement item it was not placed accurately. There is an etched scale that is accurate.

So, unless Amazon can upgrade the packaging of this item, do not try to buy it from Amazon. Basically, they try to ship it in a cardboard envelope.

In fairness, I also got the 24" MaxStick and it was well packaged and I kept it and do use it. One note: If you are wanting to make cuts using the MaxStick as a guide, it will not work if you want to pass the motor end of the saw over the rule. There is a raised section running down the center of the rule that will interfere with the travel of the saw.
