Can't do without !! [Posted on 2002-07-15] From building decks to framing houses and most probably opening your favorite beverage this tool can straighten out even the the most stubborn boards shipped by your favorite supply company. The ease of use allows the novice laboror to perform the task with ease, freeing you up for more important tasks. This is a well constructed tool in the Stanley tradition.
Very useful and effective [Posted on 2007-02-25] This device works very well to straighten bowed deck boards. Very simple to use, can change quickly from joist to joist. Only down side is that you need one person to use the tool and one to hammer in nails. (Some might be able to do both at the same time, but it wouldn't be easy. No complaints at all.
5/8 board bender [Posted on 2007-05-24] Works great, just finish 14x38 deck, have build deck with out one, this is my first deck to use it. wouldn't build one with out it, now that i know how well it works.
Essential for Deck installation [Posted on 2008-09-15] I had a lot of boards that were starting to warp/bend while building a deck recently. This proved to be invaluable and really worked great. The box stores (Home Depot and Lowes) don't carry this item. It is a shame they don't. Simple design, works as stated. Completely worth the money, no regrets.
This product actually works as advertiesed. [Posted on 2008-10-12] I've heard from a few professional deck builders that I was wasting my time trying to use one of these board benders. I'm currently working on two different decks on my house by myself and this tool works great. I was worried about whether it worked or not and it has been a huge help to me. You just set the hook part over a joist and pull the bar down and it pulls the board towards you and up to where you want it. Almost every long deck board has some bend to it and isn't straight, so this is a must have.
